Appen Enterprise Data: what the seller program offers
Appen Enterprise Data pays companies to license operational documents, decision records and systems of record, and publishes no price range. Appen quotes each partnership individually, and says it charges no upfront costs, setup fees or deductions. Appen is listed on the ASX, and 63.6% of its first-half revenue came from Appen China.1,2,3,4,5
Its FAQ wording is near-identical to Centific's, including on wind-downs and access rosters.7

What it buys
What Appen Enterprise Data wants
Appen wants operational documentation, decision and escalation records from support, ITSM, CRM, project tracking, messaging and meetings, and systems of record such as ERP, warehouse, contracts, HR and payroll, and procurement. Appen says decision and escalation records are what AI labs ask for most.1
Appen states no headcount, years or region floor. Wind-downs get a faster path and a prioritized response, and can often license complete history.9
What are we signing?
Appen's defined license and sample sign-off
Appen says "A partnership grants a defined licence for a defined use" and does not transfer ownership. You name the systems, teams, workflows and periods, nothing outside them is read, and sample sign-off is required. Retention and deletion are agreed in writing before extraction.10,11
Appen extracts the data with read-only, encrypted, per-engagement credentials in isolated pipelines. It says the work is automated, no lab or third party sees raw data, and personal data is detected and removed, with a synthetic rewrite where needed. Appen responds within two business days and asks for a mutual NDA before further discussion.12,13
Who gets the data?
Appen China is most of Appen's revenue
Near-identical pages
Appen's and Centific's FAQs read almost the same
Appen's enterprise data FAQ and Centific's use near-identical wording, including "Usually not, but timing" on wind-downs and "named, time-bound roster" on access. We do not know why. Do not assume the two programs share terms, and read each company's agreement on its own.7

How to check Appen, or any buyer
The same checks for every company we profile. We state facts; you decide.
- 1.Find the company behind the ad: a legal name, a registered address and named people.
- 2.Ask for a written offer and a sample agreement before you send any data.
- 3.Ask who removes personal data, by what method, and approve it before anything is exported.
- 4.Ask which AI labs will receive the data, and whether you will be told.
- 5.Ask how they are paid: by you, by the buyer, or from a share of your deal.
- 6.Get terms from at least one other buyer before you answer.
