Is micro1 legit? What is on record about its company data partnership
micro1 is a real, well funded company: Forbes reported a raise of $100M+ at a $4B valuation, and it says it has committed $1B over 12 months to buying company data. The confusion comes from its ads, which open a Facebook form, and from referral sites that reuse its numbers. This page sorts what is on record from what is only claimed.1,2,3
Meta removed several micro1 ads for not meeting its Advertising Standards.4

On the record
What independent sources and filings show
micro1 Inc. is a Delaware corporation founded in 2022 by Ali Ansari, and its domain dates from 2022-12-03. TechCrunch reported a $500M gross run rate in August 2026, with net revenue put at $150M-$200M. In the Spirit Airlines bankruptcy it filed a $12.5M bid for the airline's internal data, and the filing said it had completed more than 50 data transactions in the preceding 45 days.7,8,9,10,11
It says Citi and Hercules Capital are financing the $1B data commitment. That is micro1's own statement, repeated by The Next Web; the lenders' terms are not public.12,2
Why owners ask
Why the ads raise the question
The company-data ads send owners to a Facebook lead form with no company page behind it. Meta removed several micro1 ads in September and October 2026 for not meeting its Advertising Standards, without showing what they said. And the closed-company ads named 25+ staff at peak, while micro1's own program page asks for 30+ employees.3,4,13,6
Lookalikes
Sites that are not micro1 but use its numbers
Several new sites pass owners on to micro1 for a referral fee. Data Value Check says plainly "We are not micro1" and links to micro1 with a referral code. Data Specialists sends owners to micro1's application through its referral link. AI Input never names its program, but quotes figures that match micro1's partnership page.14,15,16
micro1's referral terms bar referrers from presenting themselves as its agent or partner, and let micro1 withhold or reduce referral payouts. A referrer's numbers are not micro1's offer: Data Value Check, for example, says 20+ employees where micro1 says 30+.17,18,5,6
How to check
Four checks before you send anything
Start from micro1.ai, not the ad. Confirm that anyone who contacts you writes from a micro1.ai address. Ask for the Data License Master Terms that will govern the deal; micro1 publishes them, and they say the license is nonexclusive and perpetual and that trained models are not deleted. Finally, get the price and the acceptance terms in writing: micro1 has 30 business days to reject a delivery before you can invoice.19,20

Check first
How to check micro1, or any buyer
The same checks for every company we profile. We state facts; you decide.
- 1.Find the company behind the ad: a legal name, a registered address and named people.
- 2.Ask for a written offer and a sample agreement before you send any data.
- 3.Ask who removes personal data, by what method, and approve it before anything is exported.
- 4.Ask which AI labs will receive the data, and whether you will be told.
- 5.Ask how they are paid: by you, by the buyer, or from a share of your deal.
- 6.Get terms from at least one other buyer before you answer.
